Garrett training concepts (GTC) is owned and operated by nationally
recognized trainers, David and Brigitte Garrett. GTC originally
opened in 1987. Through a longstanding history of integrity
and success, David and Brigitte have developed a reputation
as two of the finest trainers and instructors in the industry.
GTC offers expertise in training and showing in a variety of
disciplines geared to both the amateur and junior rider as well
as to the horses themselves. The emphasis on each horses’s
particular ability has played a role in GTC’s success.
David and Brigitte are very open minded about helping a horse
to find the right job to do.
By maintaining a limited number of horses in training, GTC's
facility is able to devote special attention to each and every
horse in it's care. “Every horse and rider is treated
to one-on-one lessons, which allows us to focus our attention
on each individual's specific requirements.” The amateur
and junior riders at GTC are assisted in an atmosphere that
emphasizes hard work, discipline, and the art of good horsemanship,
as well as a love of the Arabian Horse.
Over the past 20 years, Garrett Training Concepts has garnered
numerous National Championship and Reserve Championship titles
as well as Regional and Class A wins in both halter and performance
divisions. “The highlight of GTC’s career has
been sharing the successes of our students. We feel the greatest
accomplishment when we watch them experience winning in the
show ring."
At GTC, both David and Brigitte believe in the importance of their involvement in the Arabian horse industry. David has been active with Arabian horse organizations on the local, regional and national levels for a number of years. He has served these associations in many capacities. He currently serves as a Director at-Large to the Arabian Horse Association and the Purebred Arabian Trust, he is also an 18 year AHA Convention delegate veteran representing the Rancho Ca AHA. He has served as a member of the AHA Ethical Practice Review Board, chairman of the Arabian Rules Committee for the USEF, AHA Equine Stress and Research Committee, the USEF Board of Directors, USEF Western Council to name just a few. David is also an approved National and Region judge, officiating at 3 to 5 shows each year. Brigitte also maintains an active participation with the Rancho CA AHA and has served as a club officer, delegate and is also the chairperson for the Region One scholarship committee.
